Dr Sharon Parry | PhD, Physiotherapy

I believe prevention is better than cure and that movement is medicine.

Modern medicine has made extraordinary strides, yet it has largely focused on treating symptoms rather than preventing them. Many chronic health concerns could be avoided with a different approach, one that puts prevention first.

At the same time, our lives have become increasingly sedentary. Whether we're working at a desk or relaxing at home, we spend more uninterrupted time sitting than ever before and the health consequences are significant.

My mission is to change that.

I help people build simple, sustainable habits around posture, standing, and movement. Small, consistent changes throughout the day can make a profound difference to long-term health.

Presentation of workshop.MOV

"Whether you sit in an office or at home your body was built to move. Let's make that easier."

Qualifications & Academic Excellence

Education

Academically trained to the highest level, with a foundation built across three decades of study and teaching in physiotherapy.

I hold a Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD in Physiotherapy from Australia, alongside a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Innovative Learning and Teaching, reflecting a lifelong commitment to both clinical excellence and education.

Academic Career

Over 15 years educating the next generation of physiotherapists and advancing research that puts movement at the centre of health.

As a teaching and research academic at Curtin University in Perth, Australia, my work explored innovative strategies to reduce sedentary behaviour across the lifespan - from children in classrooms to older adults in care settings.

Clinical Journey

More than 30 years of hands-on physiotherapy experience across hospitals, clinics, and private practice, managing real people with real needs.

Throughout my clinical career I worked across hospital wards, private clinics, and my own private practice, managing a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. This extensive patient experience is the foundation of my approach which is always practical, evidence-based, and person-centred.

My Approach

I believe knowledge is created through experience. My role as an educator is to bridge theory and practice by aligning expectations, capabilities, and lived experience through authentic learning.

Rather than passive recipients of information, my clients learn by doing, building the skills and working together to facilitate a healthy work environment and lifestyle.
